Emily Jordan

National Vice-President of Finance

Emily Jordan, daughter of John and Marie Jordan of Black River Falls, Wisconsin, is a junior at Black River Falls High School and is the FCCLA 2007-2008 National Vice-President of Finance.  Emily joined FCCLA at the beginning of her freshman year, and has jumped at all of the opportunities given to her by this amazing organization.  Emily began her FCCLA career as a STAR Events competitor where her Illustrated Talk led her all the way to gold at the National Competition in Nashville, TN.  Had someone told her then that exactly a year later she would become a national officer, she never would have believed them.  In the year between, Emily went on to take the position of Chapter Public Relations Chairperson and serve as a member of a pilot program in Wisconsin, the very first Financial Fitness Peer Education Team.  Later that year she became the Occupational Representative on the Wisconsin State Executive Council and was selected to be Wisconsin’s representative as a National Officer Candidate.
Outside of FCCLA, Emily is also very involved in her school, church and community.  Emily is her class president, a member of Spanish and Pep Club as well as Student Senate.  She is an editor on her school newspaper, a member of the varsity track and cheerleading teams, and a very active member of choir and her school musicals.  Emily sings and plays the piano in her church, volunteers as a Sunday school teacher, and is also a member of her youth group.  In the winter she works as a figure skating coach which she considers her “dream job” because she gets to share her love of the sport with lots of younger kids.
Emily truly loves the performing arts and feels that some of her favorite high school memories are from her high school musicals.  Her favorite role was Lucy in her school’s production of “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown”.  Emily is also a huge Broadway fan with her favorite show being “Wicked”.  She is a self-described fanatic, knowing every word to every song from the musical. ?
In the future, Emily jokes about hitting the Broadway stage, but would realistically like to pursue degrees in Communications and Vocal Performance at Northwestern University.  Though she is unsure of a certain career, she feels that with the skill set she has gleaned through FCCLA she will have a variety of options.
Emily feels extremely honored and blessed to have this position and is so grateful for all of the experiences she has had through FCCLA.
