Leah Paige Truitt National Vice-President of Community Service

     Leah Truitt is a senior at Galax High School in Galax, Virginia.  Galax is a small town in southwest Virginia.  This year, Leah is serving as the National Vice-President of Community Service.  She has been involved in FCCLA for the past two years.  She joined FCCLA in 10th grade when she enrolled in her school’s interior design course. 
     After attending her first National Cluster Meeting in Louisville, KY, she was instantly hooked!  Leah quickly began working with FCCLA programs and activities in her school and decided that she wanted to run for a state office.  The next year, Leah was elected to be Virginia’s Vice-President of Parliamentary Law.  Of course, FCCLA is like an addiction.  She knew that just one year of ultimate leadership in her state was not enough; she wanted to run for a national office!  And now she it the National Vice-President of Community Service. 
     In Leah’s school, she is the past president of the International Club, member of the Career Club, member of our Kidz-4-Kidz peer counseling club, member of SADD, past secretary of the National Honor Society, and past Secretary of the Student Council. She has also played volleyball for 5 years, worked as a lifeguard at her local pool, and teaches swimming lessons throughout the year.  After high school, she plans on attending college and major in political science/government.  After getting her Bachelor’s degree, Leah plans to consider law school.  FCCLA has set her up for success in her family, career, and community.  Leah is excited about sharing the opportunities that FCCLA has to offer with students across the country!
