Find out all the ways you can support the March of Dimes® mission & healthy babies, from hosting health education activities to supporting babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Check out this guide with ways to get involved!
teen2teen is a series of health education videos and lesson plans that teach teens how to make healthy decisions for their own benefit now and for the benefit of any children they may have in the future. Teens play a critical role in achieving the mission of the March of Dimes® by educating themselves and their peers about important health messages that can affect the outcome of pregnancies in the future. Teens today are the parents of tomorrow. FCCLA students can be peer health educators using the teen2teen healthy lifestyle series, and advisors can share the series in their classrooms. The videos feature teens speaking to each other about topics that are on their mind today – sex, smoking, alcohol, drugs, stress, and peer pressure; and about making a difference in their communities. Three video segments are approximately 8 minutes each. You can find the videos at http://www.marchofdimes.com/teamyouth/teen2teen.html. The curriculum can be led by teen peer educators or more experienced adult educators. teen2teen content is conducive to an after-school program and can be delivered in nine separate 30- to 45-minute sessions or in one full-day program. Each segment is stand-alone; presenters can select what is most appropriate for their audience. You can find the curriculum at http://www.marchofdimes.com/teamyouth/teen2teen_indepth.html. Be on the lookout for more ways YOU can connect with the March of Dimes® and work together to support stronger, healthier babies!
